I picked up a spare set of wheels for my C4 Vette. Now I have a cool set of wheels that I can use for the Camaro project.
The Z06 wheels I have for the rear are 10 1/2 X 18, if I remember correctly. Comparing these wheels with the stock Camaro axle, I had to make up an extra 3" of back spacing for the wheel/tire combo to fit inside the non-tubbed quarter pannels.
That was the easy part. I measured a Chevy truck 12 bolt and it came out just shy of the 6" that I needed. I removed the axle shafts and machined the wheel registers down to fit the car's dimension. I cut off excess wheel flange material, redrilled the bolt pattern and installed longer wheel studs. Adding the thickness of the brake rotors gave me exactly the 6" that I was shooting for.

Now for the front. I don't have an exact measurement yet, but I need to make up at least 4" (closer to 5") of front wheel track.
My question: Is there a company that makes extended-length control arms? I have seen countless tubular a-arm kits and adjustable upper arms, but nothing that would widen the track.
I would like to retain the stock sub frame, so I am looking for a bolt on modification (so to speak). I have seen the usual kit to install Corvette arms and steering but that would be my last option.
I have the wheels/tires that I'd like to use, I have the braking system planned out, the next logical step is getting the front suspension system in order. I'm just trying not to create more work than what's needed. It's so close to being a roller again I can't stand it.

Is the Vette a-arm kit the best solution?

Thanks for any input.
