It was baseline track test day..
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
I think it could use a bit stiffer suspension.. lol
I don't think I'm supposed to give the data out but lets just say it didn't break 1g - the braking was on par with four wheel manual brakes and I would have to do weight reduction to get into the 16s.. lol
Actually it didn't do too bad through the cones time wise.. owe that to the Nitto tires.
Now, let the modding begin..
Must've been ONE FUN DAY!!!! :drive: :revto9k:

Oh, I got lazy and was running behind so I didn't re-check all the lug nuts with a torque wrench. A shop was supposed to have did em down to 80 ft-lbs.
After a couple cone passes we found a lug on the ground with a stud still in it. The drivers side back wheel was barely on the car. The passengers side was loose as well. Both fronts were fine since I did those myself when I cut the coil.
Moral of the story.. NEVER forget to safety check you car EVERY time you hit the track. Don't count on others to do it since it's your ass on the line. back wheel coming off could have been a bad deal when going through the cones or in the skidpad..
So ends my public service announcement :)

Thanks for baselining with the final rims and tires. I hate it when they change that stuff and then say, "see handles better thanks to the yadda yadda suspension brand."
So is that picture reversed, cause it looks like the wheels are cambering the wrong way :fingersx:

hey Steve, quick question. what did you do with the mustang you bought? are you sidelining it for a later project or did you sell it or something?
once i finish teh stang it's gonna be up for sale and then i'll be starting a 69 cougar project, hopefully i'll be able to keep that one.

What is impressive to me is that it looks like it could almost lift that inside tire in that one pic... which just proves that good tires are probably the best handling mod out there!

Aint that the truth.. Pulled over .80 g on the skidpad. That was SOLELY due to the Nitto tires.
I certainly wasn't due to the suspension.. lol

Got offered more for it than I paid so I sold it. Besides, it's more fun doing this odd-ball car :)
I would like to do a 67-68 stang coupe down the line though.
Shouldn't you have done baseline testing the way you bought it? I mean the white top and blue hood really sap performance.
