I saw a while back that someone was working on a flush mounted aluminum gas cap for 67/68 Camaros, any word what progress has been made? If it is still a ways off, are there any other manufacturers out there that make something like that?

I think 'Be Cool' Radiator's makes a gas cap called the 'Cool Cap'. But I could be wrong. And it wouldn't be the first time either. However...I don't think it's flush-mounted.

I called the guy today and found out he is out of town until Monday. I hope to have parts in a matter of weeks.

I will be picking up one of those as well Larry. Looks like a teriffic design. Can we get a ballpark price on them, so I can plan on what i'm going to spend on it?

I honestly don't have a clue yet. I would guess between $150 and $200 for a complete kit including cap, hose, clamps, screws, drill bit, and template? I need to figure out if it's cheaper to buy the elbow here in the U.S. or import them from England. When Mike comes back on Monday I should be able to nail down things better.

I played with the one at the SEMA dinner. It is a super nice piece.

I have one installed in my 67. I got it from Larry about 2 years ago. I don't know if Larry remembers it. My neighbor did a good job fabricating an aluminum tubing to replace the factory piece. ( He's a pipefitter working on nuke subs in Pearl harbor).
I'll post some pics as soon as I figure how to do it. aloha, Kiko.

I do remember sending you an early prototype. Do you have any problems with fuel collecting in the cap? When you take it off to fill it up does it spill fuel?

Larry, for those 1st Gens that are running without a return line and have to use a vented gas cap will the aluminum one work for them or no.

Larry, the car is still on jackstands, I'm still finishing up the interior. I do start up the car once in a while, and I'm going to today as soon as I finished installing the return line for the hydroboost. I didn't notice any fuel spills or fuel collecting in the cap but then again the car is just standing still. I'll try to get some pics today if I have time.
Aloha, Kiko.

My car is a 67 and carburated, I do'nt have a return line and I don't think I need one.

It appears that the cap is slightly smaller the the factory opening on the rear valance panel. Am I seeing this correctly?

Tony, the opening for the gas pump nozzle is about the same as the factory opening
only the cap is smaller.
