Alt low charging

On my 1st gen camaro running an LT1 with street and performance engine kit ie alt ,a/c etc on tick over for years the charging has only been 11.5v on tickover then shoots to about 12.5 v running, as it was not on the road was not to fussed as would get new alt when back in the US , anyway after connecting another earth cable to the batterys which are in the boot it now shows 13-5v 14-1v ,so if anybody having probs with there charging on tick over check cables:pat: what i have is earths from engine to frame,frame to batterys using mig earth cable.

VERY good advice, always ensure good grounds throughout the vehicle. Over do it to make sure sometimes. I run 2 body to frame, 2 engine to firewall, solid motor mounts and a 00 welding cable from the Battery to enginge block. I am considering a few more.

Oh forgot i run an earth direct from engine to battery as well.

You can't go wrong with extra grounds ('earths' for you fellow Yankees).
