We are building a customer car that might qualify as Pro-Touring is the eyes of some. It is a 4th gen Camaro and will have:

- Custom 4-link
- Fab 9-inch rear end
- Modified rear quarter panels to fit massive 20 x 13 wheels
- T-56 trans
- 10-point cage
- Custom floors
- 15-gallon cell, Weldon, etc
- Much more

I-Forged "Aero"

Car will eventually have the blown LT1 replaced with an LSx setup with either an F1 from ATI or possible a turbo setup.

It will have carbon tubs and the rear quarters are flared also. I guess it would be called a wide-body :)

- 10-point cage
- Custom mounted carbon Momo seats
- Rear quarter cut and flare
- Tubs
- Custom fuel system
- 20x13 rear wheels and 19x10 front wheels (I-Forged)
- Custom 9-inch rear with drag bar above axle and coil overs
- Firebird dash
- Ultra leather on all interior panels (no more plastic)
- Powder coat interior metal surfaces
- Car will eventually be painted black or gunmetal
- 402 Stroker with F1 SC
- Liberty 6-speed
- Custom gauge dash
- BS3
- Smoothed firewall
- Big FMIC

The front of the car will be done in the next "stage". The car probably will not be totally complete until about 18 months from now according to the owner.

GM specialty vehicals did a similar project. They took a similar bodied camaro and did a retro styled trans-am racer. With extra wide front and rear quarters, fat tires and an lsx drivetrain. Painted it to emulate Mark Danahue's trans am racer of 69. It was an awsome piece of machinery. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

Oh man, I wish I had as much fabrication talent as some guys have in their pinky finger. Way too cool. Can't wait to see this little gem come to life!

Yeah, Berger actually uses those same rear quarters on their specialty Camaros. The stuff was developed by GMMG near Atlanta.

What about the fronts. The front fenders in the picture you posted don't look flared to me. If they are it does not look as much as the blue camaro.

OK....Enough with the deja vu flares now.:offtopic: How about someone anwsers the question being asked....Is it Pro- Touring or not???

Me, i think not. Because that car already came out of the factory a good handler. And the term applys to converted Musclecars in my mind. That doesn't take anything from the build. Its a killer car that i would personnally be proud to have in my own garage, but i think its more of a street machine or maybe a G-Maghine more precisely.

My 2¢

Anyone else?

I say yes it is pro touring. To me the term pro touring has nothing to do with the age of the vehical.

The front fenders will not be modified for now. Customer will wait to see what it looks like and then proceed.
