View Full Version : I had two ideas for my '67 Mustang notch

Even before I got it I had ideas for the car since it was my friends. I thought the stock half backed buckets would suck so they'd be the first thing to go. Surprisingly they're really comfortable so they moved way down on my priority list for things to change. Anyhoo... I always wanted to make it a killer 2+2 with 4 bucket racing seats. The other day I was toying with 2 ideas:
1. Push the rear glass in as far as the edge of the speaker deck and make the rear fins more pronounced like on the '67 Chevelle. The car has them already but they're really small as people know who like these cars. This would make the rear seatback line flow into the glass line without beign broken up by a speaker deck ledge.
2. Thinking about this gave me my next idea. To cut out the rear seaker deck and make a angled firewall from the bottom of the glass to the floor and carpet it. This would let all the lines in the back of the car meet again. This would also work with my 4 bucket seat idea by letting the rear seats recline like the new Dodge Ram Mega Cab and the Infinity G35 sedan (my friends dad has one)
What do you guys think?
I like it but I'd keep the seatbacks low like originals because 4 tall back racing buckets would make it look cluttered.
You never see the coupes done right but I think you're going to change people's feelings about that bodystyle!
Post pics when you start slicing!

You never see the coupes done right? Really? Well, I guess I'll have to disagree...and tell the guys at K&N that it wasn't their favorite car on Power Tour year before last. :3rd:

And don't forget Kevin's green notchback...oh?
Alright, alright. Sorry, I didn't get the official K&N's favorite car press release..... 2 years ago
I meant you rarely see coupes done right but yours is an exception and you probably already know that since you probably don't see many other notchbacks that can hold up to yours.
