I will be doing some crazy road race suspension next year but I cant afford it this year because im redoing the paint, interior, trans and wheels. Im doing Hotchkis 2 inch drop springs, either KYB or bilstein shocks, all poly bushings, stock a arms, and a 1 1/8 hotchkis sway bar. i already have a sub frame connectors and a 10 point cage to keep it stiff. as for rear suspension, how well can i actually handle with a a rear leaf spring kit from DSE or Global west? i will be mini tubbing it and using 315's. but how well can i jandle with nice leaf springs compared to say a DSE quadralink or somehitng of that sort. i wont be doing any competitive racing. just for fun and then rippin around the streets.
sorry for the long post
Thanks

I don't mean to be unkind, but have you searched at all? This and related questions have been asked and answered hundreds of times.
The short answer is that leaf springs can handle extremely well in a first generation F body (that is what you have isn't it, you didn't mention what kind of car you're talking about in your post), and you may never need to go to a "crazy road race suspension" next year.
However, it doesn't sound as if you're doing much to the front suspension to maximize the car's handling.
Again, I'd urge a search here and in the suspension forums at Lateral-G.net.

They hit the nail on the head. A good set of rear leaves will work very well. DSE and GW are among the best. While you`re at it get front springs from the same maker so the rates are matched. The front end needs some geometry help to be a capable performer. You can do the G mod, although with stock arms it`s a bit of a pain to do or you can go one better with one of our tall ball joint StreetComp packages. A tall spindle/upper arm package is also an option but may be a little more than you want to spend right now. Among them the AFX aluminum tall spindles are by far the best choice. With the geometry corrected you can drop back to a 1" front bar. Go with the Bilstein shocks, the KYBs can`t hold a candle to them. Round it out with a nice performance alignment and you`ll likely be very suprised at how well it performs! You can put "crazy" stuff on it later if you like but you`ll already be on par with a lot of modern performnce cars. Mark SC&C
