The Rack is one of AGR's units available in 15:1 or 20:1 ratios. Motormounts are for traditional GM V8's and with our adapter kit you can run the LS engines. I will be able to post some MaxG C5 pics on Friday (when I get the images back from our photographer)

Craig do you have any frames that will fit under a 49 Chevy Fleetline or a 78 Malibu? Wishful thinking on my part but I thought I'd ask. Getting a little jealous over all the attention other cars are recieving. That subframe is BADASS.

Wes Rydell's latest project (featuring C5 front and tri 4-bar rear) & 600hp LS engine, uses one of our frames. For the 49-54's we do the body mounts to help the project along. We've done quite a few of these chassis and they work great!

The 78 Malibu could use one of our MaxG Musclecar chassis which would require some floor/firewall mods.

We are going to locate a couple of Pontiac powerplants just to see what it takes to get one to bolt in there. Stay tuned.......we'll let you know how it turns out.

Craig,
A 455 Pontiac will have all five motor mount holes- pre-1970 2 bolt and post 1970 3 bolt, the 75-up mount style should be real close to a Chevy mount (I believe GM went to a "standardized" style in '75).
An early 70's 400 "should" have all the holes, a late '70 400 will only have the 3 bolt arrangement, but may have the bosses machined, just not tapped. A '60's 326/389/400 will be a two bolt mount.
A 350 could go either way, depending on early/late casting style.
Hopefully this will assist you procuring a test block.

Well we had our photographer shoot some pics of the LS engine with all accessories bolted in place and 265's lock to lock with plenty of clearence. Will post a few more teazer shots on Monday.

For those who have been asking, we are planning on offering this with C5 components only. We are also looking into the posibility of Pontiac engine mounts for the Poncho crowd.

Pricing is still being worked on, but we're trying to keep it very close to Wayne Due's price point (we should be able to do this since we made Wayne's rails for him). It should put us smack in the middle of the range. Some less expensive, some more expensive. More info when available.....

Thanks for all the feedback, we really appreciate it! https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2005/04/thumbsup-1.gif

We are talking about doing something for the Chevy II's, but suspension and timelines haven't been decided yet....Hope this helps.

...yes it does, I was bummed I missed Waynes boat so I pushed my 67 project back a few years. Now will that be C4 or C5 conversion for the II's? thanks for the info Craig.

I too think Chevy II's would be a good idea. There are a bunch of clips on the market, but they all seem to look about the same, MII stuff.

Well, there is one that is Corvette based, but it seems a little high in price.

CraigMorrison

Actually, Art and I were talking about the ChevyII clip this morning. We will probably offer it with our IFS (no MII - will use the new Wilwood spindle) and C5. By offering it both ways, it will give people more choices on wheels and backspacings. At least that's what we are throwing around right now (as of 7:25 PST).

Craig, hopefully I'm not taking things too far off topic, but have you thought about building a front with better geometry for the Street Rod market? Spending the weekend sitting in a lawn chair isn't everyone's idea of a high time. A lot of owners have real performance cars in their pasts if not in their garages and their rods are light weight with power under the hood. Many street rodders take pride in the road rash on their cars and the miles they drive. Probably more of them would be driven regularly if the cars drove well. Shortcomings in the MII front end are a common topic of discussion. Mostly trouble getting the units set up to sit and drive properly, but structural failures on cars that see regular miles aren't uncommon. Seems like an environment ripe for a better solution.

With the IFS that we have now (uses 2" dropped MII spindles) that was developed for the 55 chassis was designed by Katz to address this issue. Because of the quality of the MII spindles out on the market we have been working with Wilwood over the last year on a new spindle design that is a direct swap for the MII units. In 07 we will have the following available for customers: C5, C5 dropped arm, Wilwood, and in some limited applications MII 2", MII and our own investment cast stainless spindle. With the dropped arm C5 and the new Wilwood piece, it should be able to work for 80-90% of the front suspensions that we do for various vehicles. As you can see we've got a lot of options avaiable!

While people bash MII a lot, there's a lot that can be done utilizing a MII spindle versus those street rod companies that build a crossmember kit that uses all stock MII components. We also see a lot of people at shows that instantly assume that since MII spindles are used, it is the same geometry/arms found under Ford's fantastic creation.

New spindle will be out in Jan to eliminate the above confusion and also improve the product we already have available for our customers.

As a reminder, here's the vid of our GT55 project going through the slalom course (using our IFS with 2" dropped MII spindles)

The new spindle will be out in January to eliminate the above MII confusion and to also improve the suspension products that we have available. Hope this helps answer your question!
