Wow. Where do they have turkey's that fat? The wild ones I've seen up north are skinny.
these were BIG OLE FAT TURKEYS !
Northern IN , about 4.5 hrs from you!
I've seen turkeys when i have been out deer hunting in the past but not ones like these .. and there wild.
We've seen them 2 time now and i was able to get pictures this morning.
i was tempted to get my Bow out but i didnt want to clean it!
I see your in Chesterfield . My Dad lived up there fro years , right off Graham rd ...just off 21 mile.

if hes old you might not want to eat it anyway. From what i've heard the meat isn't any good.

They are a real hazzard around here, you see them blocking traffic all the time, and you DON"T want to hit one with your car. I had 32 of them in my yard on Sunday and they wake me up nearly every morning. I've even caught them eating bugs off of the front bumper of my truck.
My lab even got one last year that was in our backyard. She had some pretty bad cuts from their talons.
I dont really want to eat one ...LOL
i prefer to just go get a Butterball from the store!
There back again this morning though.
Ive been here 2 years and never seen them.
I have had a couple deer in the back yard though 2 doe's and a Buck.
You definately dont want to hit one.
They gotta be 30 or 40 lbs!

I'm up in Erie, PA and there's a guy down the street from me who has feeders out in his yard for the turkeys, they get pretty massive up here too! Back when I still had my '85 Regal one came charging into the road in front of me, I swear it was looking over my hood!! Apparently they can get pretty huge!
Rabbit ... The turkeys are actually just on my neighbors property but its basicly at my back yard...
THATS NOT PEANUT OIL ...i think its a jug of motor oil hes stashing ...
when these things tand straight up with thier necks extended , they gotta be close to 3.5 to 4 ft tall . its amazing .
i would love to catch one ...
You ought to see them fly away ...you wouldnt think something that big could get off the ground...But they do!

I'd have the bow leaning up against the back door. As long as they haven't been eating acorns (are there a lot of oaks nearby?) the meat will be great. Especially if they have access to corn. If they've been in the acorns it will be bitter.
You wont believe this ...
this morning the Turkeys were back ---- ON MY FRONT PORCH.
actually up on the concrete , 2 feet from my front door .
There were 9 of them in my yard!
I just cant get over that!

Somebody must be feeding those things, or they've been chewing on corn from a nearby cornfield the past few months. I don't hunt but I hear turkey's are quite elusive, even more so than deer.
Graham and 21? Hell that's only a couple miles from my house. I'm at 23 and I-94.
Ive been here for just over 2 years and i have NEVER seen Turkeys here .
Lots of cornfields around - It is Indiana.
from what i hear , your right they are very elusive but for some reason , these things are hangin out here .
If they see ya , They take off !

Jeff, as long as you were in east Tn. you did not see these? They are all over here. They are a real PITA and can multiple quicker than rabbits. They can actually ruin a farm if you are not careful and keep them thinned out. The only good turkey, is one on the dinner table. Deep fried wild Turkey, man, I am hungry again....

I don't see what the problem is. Last time I had a giant turkey in the yard problem, I just dressed up in a pilgrim costume with a big ol' belt buckle and a goofy hat. The Mrs. put on her Pocahontas costume. I held up a box of Stove Top Stuffing.
The turkeys took one look at us and never came back. Now squirrels are a problem.....

Saw a White deer just east of Sevierville on 441 , 1/2 way to seymore.
I did see a ton of stink kitties though ! IN MY YARD
One of my dogs got sprayed one time AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW thats nasty...
you would think that dumb a$$ dog would have learned but NOPE , he found another one one day and it got him again .... ONLY DIFFERENCE THIS TIME WAS ,
I FOUND IT TORN IN HALF !
I guess he figured it was worth it if he caught it and it would be the last time it did it to him !
ANYWAYS , THERE BACK AGAIN - just outside in the back right now.
Im so tempted to grab my Bow ...
Jeanne's home today though and i dont think she would like it if i handed her a big Tom and said HERE FIX THIS FOR DINNER ...LOL
We did use one of those DEEP FRY TURKEY THINGS one time though...
Kind of had a little fire issue but the turkey was good.

CHECK THIS OUT...
in my front yard by my pole building What the hell is wrong with these birds.
And i wouldnt be like ELMER FUDD with a rifle LOL ...just a nice quiet draw back , put a 10 yard pin on one , pull the trigger and drop it where it stands...NICE and QUIET like!
The neighbors put up with me starting up a couple 850-1200hp cars all the time , Not to mention a burnout now and then ---- I dont think they would deal to well with me bringing out a 300 Mag , my 44 mag ruger pistol or even just a 12 gauge shot gun ... i dont want to press my luck LOL

THEN i will have plenty of room to work out in the pole barn..
Did you ever get that Chevell hood out ? I am still interested!
Do anything to the Firebird yet ?

I live in what could be considered a densly populated area and there is a flock of wild turkey's living in my neighborhood. My back yard is up against the Concord naval weapons station. IT has been shut down for several years now so they have tons of protected acerage to live on, but for some reason they like to hop the fence and wonder in amoungst the houses. They love to perch themselves atop a roofs peak and watch the world go by ,and torment the neighborhood pets.

Damn it Damn True, that is a real hunters toy there. That reminds me of growning up in the country and killing chickens for supper. Yes, we were poor white trash and didn't even know it back then.
HOLY SH*T i have some pretty wicked arrows , BUT NOTHIN LIKE THAT ( YET )

That guillotine was cool.
We have peacocks running around our neighborhood. Not as big around but much taller. They escape from the arboretum down the road. They are very agressive too. If they get over by the parks or schools they call in animal control real quick!

You gotta remember you are talking to a guy who made a nickel per bird shooting starlings in vinyards as a kid. We used to ride all over town on schwinn sting-ray's with a shotgun under one arm and a backpack full of #6 12ga shells.
Can you imagine the ruckus that would cause these days?
I'm pretty sure we would see something about it on the NEWS !
i dont know what would be worse , getting caught with a 12gauge and some ammo , OR A BOW and THOSE ARROWS !
