okay... I'm redoing a 383 for my F100
first off does this sounds like 500hp potenial ?
383 stroker SBC
Comp cam Hydr - 244/244 duration .501/.501 lift
Rhoads lifters
1.6 Roller Rockers
9.8:1 compression Forged Pistons
World Motown 220 heads
Holley stealth Ram TPI intake
FAST X-FI
elec water pump
under drive pulleys
Elec Fan
I need to find a set of headers that fit the Motown ports, that fit the Olds front clip (mid 70's wagon) .. and are High clearance .. I've got a set on it right now that meet the clearance.. but they are for stock 305 heads.
also I need to find a 6qrt baffled High clearance Roadrace oil pan!
thoughts.. help?

no I don't have it yet.. I need to get new pistons/bearings.. and have the internals and block checked first
it was a low level stroker with cheap cast pistons. one of them broke a ring land. so I wanna get it all checked out before I go buying more peices.
I'd def be interested in the intake .. but it'll be awhile before I'll be able to buy it ... just off the cuff though.. what you want for it?

The cam is a little mild for 500 hp. I would say ~450 for that combo. Can't help on the headers but the best oil pan I have seen for a reasonable price is the CV products unit. Pan (http://www.cvproducts.com/cv/products/SpecItem.aspx?prodID=1628&keyword=1080LT&brandID=18) is 8 quart capacity and Pickup (http://www.cvproducts.com/cv/products/SpecItem.aspx?prodID=1630&keyword=1080SB&brandID=18) are needed. Mine is yet to be installed but you can see it on CarlC's page www.geocities.com/casanoc/

Not enough cam or compression or head for 500HP.

... not enough head? ... cam and compression I can understand.. but 2.08 intake valves, 220CC runners... not enough for 500hp?
bout the highest Compression wise I would go is 10.5:1
and maybe a 253/253 duration .525/.525 lift cam... with the rhoads lifters shouldn't be that bad cruising
honestly I'd be content with 450hp at the crank.. but if I can squeeze out 500hp crank I'd be all over it ;)
if you've still got that intake some near spring time... I'll talk to ya! ... I really gotta get my datsun finished before I go any more into the F100 buying parts wise

with the right work, thats a 425hp-ish combo. Like he said, small cam, needs a bit more compression. It'd make tons of torque, though!

Canton makes nice pans... roadrace or oval...
