Main bearings - Please take a look

When I tore the bottom end of my 454 apart I was hoping the bearings would be in decent shape. From the looks of these, they've been there for quite a long time. They're GM-branded bearings so for all I know they're original to the block. The main journals look almost perfect (better than the pics show).

So do you guys think polishing the crank and just replacing the bearings will be ok, or should I have it turned just to be safe?

It looks like it may be polishable. I would measure it or have the machine shop do so. Then go from there.

take it to a machineshop but to me it looks like it could be polished

x3 for polishing. The main bearings just look like used bearings, nothing really bad. Of course the ones in the end caps tell the big story!

take it to a machinest have it checked for size and run it
