Does anybody have a good sideview of this 67 Camaro? Did anybody happen to see what size rear tire was on it? :help: Thanks in advance.

Well, i'm sorry to say that I just got done browsing through about 1000 pictures taken at SEMA by guys in our club here in Vegas, and this was the best (not to mention only) picture I could find of the car you're referring to:

Sucks, I know, but it's better than nothing at all I guess. They almost look like Colorado Custom's Sing-Sing wheel. Hard to tell though.

Well I got quite chummy with the folks over at Pypes exhaust that was showing the car and I'm sure one call to my contact over there would help you out :) I call for you tommorow, need to talk to them anyway. I'm thinkin they were 22s (believe it or not) but I'll check for ya...

That is exactly the spot I got my camera stolen, argh! 295/40/20s I believes. 20s for sure. We looked it over hard, those are the same wheels as we are using on Prodigy. 20s in back, 18s in front except the tires will be wider on Prodigy. The tires on the Pypes car were tall and not real wide, about an 11.7 section, versus the 13.6 section we are now accustom to with 335 / 30 / 18s, the wheels had a huge recess, about 8" I would guess.
I really loved the look, the tires size and the stance, for us it was the coolest car there.

The reason I ask is I am trying to stuff a 345/35/18 under the rear of my 68 now and after doing some careful measuring I have to buy a tire to make sure it absolutely don't hit anything. We made a 28" disc to pre check fitment. It hits at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock without sucking the tire about 3" in. My disc did not account for an actual tire size of 27.4" and the radius at the edge. It is going to be very close. :scared:

If you look at that car, the tires are sucked in a bunch. Notice how you can look right into the wheelhouse. I did not like that, but those tires were taller then your 345s. 335s are 25.9 and we know they clear without problems. Why not use a 345 / 30 / 18, it is only 26.2?
We are running 26.7 inch tires on Prodigy, but because the independant rear leans the tire in as it goes up, we get a bit of extra outer wheel house clearance as it tapers in towards the center of the car, meaning we do not have to suck them in real far to clear under compression.

By going with the 345's, I can keep my stance the same and gain a little more suspension travel, or I can suck the tire and have the same as the 315/35/17 I got now. If I stay with a 26" tire, I will keep my 17's.

Mike

edit: now that I look at it, I see the rear sucked in which I don't like.

Last car on the left. Two dead on side shots. They are CCW Whiskey wheels. Not sure about the 20s :dunno:

The Whiskey and the Slater are the same, one has machine lines, the other does not. Michael reminded me he has machine lines. Love the stance.

I have seen that car in Pa in person - was originally a pro-street car - reason why the rear wheel wells are big - the rear tires for sure are 295/40-20s. I think they are mounted on 12s - sidewalls look to stretched to be 10s. If I rememder though the fronts are either 225/40 or 45-17s. The car has won lots of awards - it's done to the max. Detailed like you would not believe - under the hood has lots of nice touches as does the rest of the car. I doubt that it's driven more than in and out of the events though. That's not meant as a knock but as a testament to how perfect it is! Jack

Thanks for finding the side view. That is the stance I am going for. However my headers will be more than 1" off the ground, lol. The rear wheel is WAY too big, which makes the front look too small. It is all out of proportion. Other than that car is awesome.

Don't worry I agree, I was only after a profile stance. Way too big in back and too small in front proportionally.

I haven't had a chance to tell you yet, but the rendering looks S-W-E-E-T !!! I complimented Kris the other night as well!
