thats weird. if nothing else, pop over to imageshack (www.imageshack.us) and click "browse" then find the pic you saved. then click "host it" the next page that comes up will have the coded string you need to copy and paste in the URL dialog box in the avatar window of User Cp. that oughta do it.

make sure it has a .jpg extension. try renaming it newname.jpg or try mine.

it will only let me save it as a bitmap.....bmp....thats probably the reason....I cant save it as a jpg....or I dont know how.....Im trying to save it in my documents....it gives me a spot to name the pic and a spot to choose what type but it only gives me bitmap choice.....am I doing something wrong........LOL...what a pain...sorry guys!!!

so you are right clicking and choosing "save picture as" this should work, just save to your desk top for easy of finding it. then when you go to edit avatar click 'browse' and look for it on your desk top.

yup..done that about 50 times.....it just says "not a valid jpg...please check this and try again".....LOL.......stupid computer......or me...

all you need to do is this.
right click on and select copy, the following link:
http://img22.exs.cx/img22/4403/small10.jpg

go to the "edit avatar" page in your user cp. then in the "Enter Avatar URL" dialog box, (after you've deleted the "http://www" )right click and select paste.
that URL should show up.

then click "Save Changes" then you'll be done!

I actually couldn't get it to accept a hosted avatar, the only way I got mine to accept it (I was getting the same error) was to allow the board to host it (provided a path to a local copy of the .jpg, it uploaded it and it seems to be working)

Same here, a hosted avatar wouldn't work, had to use one directly from hard drive.

On the sig pics, only hosted would work for me.

yeah...neither will work for me..im sure its got to do with some kind of settings on my computer or something.....im not too worried about it....at least my sigs working!!!!!

thanks again for guys all the help!
