Who makes this Air Cleaner?

Been looking for this style of Air cleaner for some time now w/ no luck anybody got any clues? I know DSE custom milled the brushed finish on this one for SW's camaro, but I just can't seem to find it who makes em? Any help is appreciated.

If I remember, I think we bought this one from Kauffmann Racing (The Pontiac guys) I couldn't find it on the web page but I think its in their catalog.

That's kinda funny. That's the same air cleaner in my post( https://www.pro-touring.com/forum_main.htm ) that no one has replied to...:guilty:

That apears to be a big block, and I'd imagine that intake is taller then a Performer RPM and it's in a Camaro with a Cowl induction hood.

OK- now we know where to get them, anyone have any good ideas on how to get that nice brushed look like SW's ? His seems to have circles that are somehow "milled" into the surface.

You can safely secure a 3/8" drill in a small vise using an arbor or even a small threaded bolt with nuts to secure the air cleaner lid. This would provide the means to turn the a/c lid in a circular motion, check to make sure it runs true or that it's centered.
Once you've set this up take some Red Scotch Brite pad that your local paint supplier sales and scuff it to the desired brushed finish. Wear gloves and eye protection and go about it in a safe manner, this should provide a low buck method with good results.

The one we bought from Kaufmanns was spun aluminum that gives it a machined finish, it wasn't a smooth finish. The only thing I did was had the body shop spray it with clear to help protect the finish and easy clean up from dust or dirt.

Thanks for the hookup on the Musclemotorsport one. Much cheaper than Kaufmanns, this way I can go for the smooth finish option if the customer wants.

Thanks for all the help and links guys. Def some good advice on the machined aluminum effect too. Never would have thought to setup it up on a drill press but that should work great.

Just make sure you rub some 3M 6620 Anti-Dizzy Compound on your forehead, it keeps you from getting sick.:smoke: HEHE

If you're drill press has a deep enough throat I like to put things in there becaue you usually can slow it down and keep a predictable speed going letting you concentrate on you're piece better.

OK I am ready to order the filter housing. Any guesses on which K&N filter SW is running? I like the way it looks as far as the height of it. I found a 4" tall on the K&N site but SW's doesn't look that tall.

I just ordered one from Howe, they are $35 for the regular base version. If you need an O-ring style base, that would be $54.

Just an update, received my air cleaner from Howe. It isn't as nice/smooth as the one posted above, it has rough grooves in it and definitely looks more "dirt track racecar". I'll get some pics later.
