Hey all. I'm a 19 year old mechanical engineering student and total gearhead. Me and pops have a 1966 Lemans project that is turning into the 60's version of a modern european sport sedan. Super luxurious 4-door, great handling, great brakes, big wheels, waay too fast, but with way more style than any new BMW. That one is a long way off, though. Ive been reading this forum for a few years and decided to join so I can actually post. Mostly here for the cool in-depth tech stuff which I find fascinating.

Afraid shes not much to look at now. Pretty much gutted, only bare rails from the firewall foreward. Unfortunately its been like that for way too long and probably will be for a lot longer. The plan is to run the 6.0L LQ9 Escalade engine with a t56. Brakes are C5 front and LS1 Camaro rear. Have heated, double power, leather seats from an 03 Bonneville that will go with a custom console and nice stereo inside. Oughtta be a pretty sweet ride if it ever gets done.

Right nowim trying to get a "r@trod" type thing off the ground to fool around in. Not going hardcore tradtional basically just going to use whatever will make it fastest for cheapest. Planning on using a model a or similar body with a custom fabbed frame. Going to use solid axles front and rear to start because they are cheap but eventually will have front and rear independent suspension using C5 uprights and a Thunderbird-Cougar 8.8" differential. For power I can get a Northstar v8 for really cheap and hook it up to a world class t-5 from a 93-up V6 F-body. A set of cams and springs for the northstar give about 375hp and raise redline to 8500rpm(!) Will also have open lake style headers and hopefully a bunch of 2-barrels on top. Whole thing will be chopped and channelled to the ground and ride on some wide 17 inch steelies. If my girlfriend's mom won't let her ride in it I know I've succeeded. Maybe someday we can set up a little race between the Lemans, my rod, and my dad's Firebird Formula.........Someday

You think yours isn't much to look at see my sig. they all start somewhere from between the scrap pile and brand new. All my projects mine and customers alike seem to start on the bottom of the pile:hmm: . My sister in law says I have a serious affliction with junk automobiles I just simplyy reply it's paid for and worth more than her car if you add up the parts value:enguard:

Welcome aboard. That's my old hometown (heading back for the holiday next month). Which college?

Yup, gorgeous town here. Seriously, though, I love it. Today is the last day of November and its 65, Saturday will probably be 30 and snowy; keeps you on your toes. With a long build season and short hot rod season you would think more juk would get actually built. And for everyone out there who has never had a garbage plate I am truly sorry for you. Right now I go to Monroe Community College (low- buck street-sleeper education). Headed to RIT or out of town next fall.

Pop's mid-life crisis mobile is a 93 Formula 6-speed, no options, black with gray interior. Mostly stock with a BBK throttle body and aftermarket cat-back of unknown brand but it sounds like pure sex. Six speed formulas are actually pretty rare for 93 and lots of them were purple or that wierd teal color. Might be a pretty desirable car someday but now its just in average condition and needing the trans rebuilt pretty soon. Fun car, though. Chicks dig it. I know I have pics somewhere, I'll dig them up and post them. Too new and stock to be of much PT interest but why not?

First thing I get when I'm back home is a garbage plate. Say hello to the bricks for me.
