This is a little hard for me to post but I think it is very important for everyone to see this. Last Monday night at about 11:30pm I was heading home with a friend in my RX7. The streets were empty and I forgot to respect the power of a vehicle that only has about 7 lbs/HP. I lost control of the car and proceeded to attempt to occupy the same space as a telephone pole. So here is a list of things that I am thankful for on this Thanksgiving Day!

1. I am thankful that I am alive!
2. I am thankful that my passanger is alive.
3. I am thankful that no others were injured.
4. I am thankful that no other property was damaged.
5. I am thankful that neither one of us was seriously injured.
6. I am thankful that the police did not issue me a ticket.
7. I am thankful for being reminded that we build cars that are powerful and potentially dangerous if we forget to use our brains and respect the power that we possess.
8. I am also thankful that I have an opportunity to share this experience with all of you. If it saves one life, its worth the sting to my pride.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Glad to hear that you guys are ok! Sorry about the car, but that is a minor thing in the whole spectrum!
That is what happend to me a couple years ago in the 69. Well, at least without the MAJOR damage. I forgot about the wheelspeed in 3rd at 6000+ rpm and hit a slick spot.:barf:
Thanks for the post!

Thanks for sharing... reminds me of a saying an old girlfriend had, "it only takes one second of complacency to alter your life forever." Glad it didn't with you!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Matt, to answer your question, no the passanger was not wearing his seat belt. He put out his hand, which put one starburst on the windshield, then his head hit the windhield, breaking the windshield again.

**edit...I added an interior picture at the top

Thanks for sharing these, there should almost be a thread or stickie for cautionary tales and photos. It should be a must read when someone starts talking about "blowing away vettes" on a windy road.

Really glad your ok.

I lost a tire and took mine out last night...nailed a curb, fence, and tree. I feel your pain, brother!

It's amazing what one person can accomplish in a few hours with the help of levers and hydraulics.

Ouch, yours was definately worse than mine. I only had to slap a fender and nose on. Lining them up may take some persausion as i think i tweaked something a little more than apparent at first glance.

That and making the radiator fit in a hole thats just 1/8" too small.
