I posted this on lateral-g looking for responses. If you monitor both sites, sorry for the duplicate....
I have been away for awhile, doing my military thing - so I may be a little behind on the threads. Is there a consensus (is there ever a consensus?) on the Fat Man Fab 2" drop spindles for Chevelles? I would like to use a set instead of the "B" body spindles (which have problems with bump steer) with the Global West upper "A" arms for "Tall" spindles. Will this combo work? Will it work well?
I have a 1972 Chevelle and I am building a mild street machine (no race). I am planning on using GW uppers in front, stock lowers, GW springs, Edelbrock shocks, and the full GW setup in the rear with disk brakes on all 4 corners. Anybody do a similar setup?

pretty much just stay away from drop spindles...theres a sticky on the the problems with them. the best thing to use for lowering a car is a lowering spring.

The lowered position for the steering arms (For Camaro's) roughly double the stock bump-steer in the A-bodies.. Steer away from the Fat Man spindles!

If you have to have a tall spindle, go ATS, otherwise use tall balljoints.
Springs are needed anyway.

Consider the AFX spindle package from SC&C. Unlike other drop spindles, it addresses bumpsteer.

TJ i have fatman spindle's and QA1 coil-over in my chevelle and have no bump-steer problem's i do more street than track driving. I have put about 6000 mile's on the car this year and i think it handle's great.

Wayne no offense at all intended but it would be more correct to say you`re not bothered by the bumpsteer. Rest assured you`ve got more than your fair share. Been there, measured that. ;)
Bumpsteer is like old eyeglasses you seldom realize how bad they are (it is) until you get new ones (fix it). They you go WOW! This is so much better!
I`m not saying there`s anything *wrong* with your car just that it can be even better. Mark SC&C

Mark no offense taken, i just know my car and it handles as well with the drop spindle as it did with cut coil's but a much nicer ride.

I am rocking Qa1 coilovers with the Gforce Fatman spindle on my 1969 nova. I had to go to a narrower tire in front due to the drop, but the handling was much more predictable with bumpsteer greatly reduced. I was have the same setup in my 1969 malibu and while I am using a performance spring, the ride and cornering is killer.
