I post these things occassionally in the Out House section, but I thought I'd do it here this time.
I regularly cruise the local Craislist ads (www.craigslist.org) just for kicks, and usually end up kicking myself for not having the cash or the garage space to buy some of the very cool deals that show up so often. I could make a huge list, but take these just as a for instance:
'72 Mustang fastback, ex race car, $1000: http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/car/237647893.html
'38 Chrysler Coupe, rat rod project, too cool for $8k: http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/car/237824690.html
'69 Cougar, rebuilt 351C, needs work, $1600: http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/car/235884896.html
'67 Cougar, very decent driver quality, $7500: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/car/235411720.html
'70 Torino GT, 351C/4bbl/9", needs work, $2500: http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/car/237995921.html
'70 Torino, driver quality, shaker hood, $4k: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/car/236562098.html
And a personal heartbreaker:
'72 Torino Sport, wicked black on black fastback, driver with lots of new stuff, $4500: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/car/235725760.html ...uugghhhhh... it's killing me. :crying:
I know they're mostly Ford products (because that's what I dig generally), but I think it's a good representation of the kind of stuff that can be found.
Isn't it amazing that in spite of the crazy money being spent on musclecars at auctions, and being thrown at building crazy show pieces and rolling works of art, you can still get some wicked cool cars that would be great to build for damn reasonable money!
Forget about "dare to be different"... how about just common sense (cents?) with "dare to be cool with some coin left in your pocket".:smoke:
