this is insane, I had bet against it, but, I know the car and the guy and can vouch for it. (as much as I am still in disbelief)

Stock 2006 Subaru WRX STI runs easy 12's, back to back under ideal conditions.

I never never never would have guessed this would be possible from a stock STI. Watch out on the streets! (they are AWD, and 300hp)

Yep, they will do it. Seen it several times. To get them into the high 12's stock requires you really flog the crap out of them on the launch.

I'll never do it in my STI because I absolutely refuse to launch the car hard enough to 60' quick enough for it to run high 12's... I've seen what can happen and I'm not at all in a hurry to replace the CV shafts. They're somewhat expensive and Subaru won't warranty them if you bring the car in because they'll claim abuse, and then you have that flagged in your service history.

Have him watch his engine & pitch mounts... the 2006 STI's went to liquid filled mounts because of NVH complaints and they like to come apart when subjected to hard shifting & launches. If they come apart the best bet is the all rubber 2005 mounts or the even harder special STI mounts you can get over the counter.

Oh yeah, the 60' is low 1.7x.
