I've been searching around for an answer to my question on this and other sites but can't seem to find my exact situation (probably haven't found the right "word search" combo).
I have a '67 Camaro with a (future) big-block and a C4 Wayne Due subframe with the low height DSE solid body bushings. I plan on installing a T-56 into the car and was wondering the extent of the transmission tunnel mods that would be required (if any). I thought I was about through replacing and modifying body panels on this beast... once I get the LH rear quarter in over Thanksgiving.... I just don't want any "big" surprises. I could wait until I get the transmission in and see for myself but the suspense would kill me. Is it a "local" area that will need to be addressed or will I need to raise the whole tunnel over the transmission. Does anyone have any pics of what the have done so that I can get an idea of the effort required? Just trying to plan ahead so that I don't go to mate it up and hear that dreadful, expected "clunk". Thanks.

You might want to talk to Tito from ATS, hes a sponsor here on the site. If you click on the link to the right of this site it will take you to their website. There's instructions on his site, and the only mod I see is that you have to cut a hole for the shifter to come through. But I dont know whats involved with the shorter DSE body mount bushings.
Oh well, hope I helped, good luck!

Franken the tunnel needs to be raised at least 3/4" to clear depending on your ride height. This would be primarily just where the trans sits under the floor. So from about the front of the seat mounts on the floor to the firewall.

Here are some good pics on what needs to be done.
