Hey yall .. im new im building up a 1974 Trans Am 455 - 4 speed .. Ive got one of those Huge fiberglass fenders meant to house 10 inch plus wide wheels .. will post pics but i come searching for the wheels guys that can help with wheel size and backspace requirements

Welcome aboard. Nice to see more birds over here. Can't help ya' on the backspace and tire width. My guess is you will need a lot of tire with minimal backspacing to look right. Take some measurements to see how much room you really have under those flares. Honestly, I'm not big on the flares and the second gens can fit a substantial tire without doing a mini tub. Have you considered going back to stock quarters? If you really like the flares, that's cool, but I think you need to flare the front as well.

Welcome, looks like you have a good car to start with there...
FYI I am running 18 X 9's rear with a 5.5" BS, with 285/35 tires, and it's about the biggest I could fit without major modification. So that should give you an idea. Do your careful measuring first, then go for it.
I agree with Zee, if you are planning to do bodywork I would lose the flares, but that's just my humble opinion.
