I'll tell you what -

After lurking around LS1Tech for a while, I came so close to a fourth-gen, its scary, looking back.

But, somehow I found this sight a year ago, and I caught the bug - had to have a first-gen.

Congrats on the decision - I mostly lurk here, but welcome!

Hey, I was in the same boat as you a while back. Although I had both! I was modding my 4th Gen T/A and trying to build my PT '69 at the same time...... Yeah right like that was ever gonna work.

I sold the T/A ealier this year and got cracking on my Camaro again.

Here is my T/A: http://hometown.aol.com/ryanb94ta/index.html

More pics: http://groups.msn.com/GMsFbody/rybarsnewpics.msnw?albumlist=2

And a quick vid: http://www.seanbatt.com/files/MUSIC01.mpg

The car put down 415 rwhp and ran a best of 12.61 @ 114.92 mph on street tires.

Was a blast, but had to move on.

You'll be happy, a classic ride is much more rare and worth a lot more than a whored out 4th Gen.

Amen to that! I sold my 93 Trans Am a few months back so that I could concentrate on my 383 LT1/T56 67 Camaro SS.

You'll enjoy having a first gen Rob! IMHO They're SO much easier to work on than a 4th gen in all aspects, and they're just badass to watch going down the street too. You see 4th gens every day.... but heads turn when a nice looking first gen rolls by. :headbang:

I miss my 4th gen.. but then again it wasnt your run of the mill 4th gens :)

But I really love my 1st gen.. especially with the same engine, same seats, same console, same brakes.. well you get the idea :D

my '69 definitely gets more attention than my '02, but I don't have any worries about parking my '02 at the mall. haha

I like them both for what they are

I think you made the right choice.

It's a good idea to invest in something that has the potential to increase in value, as opposed to something that will decreases in value.

Hey, don't go blaming it on this place. It's your own fault for getting suckered into the first gen party. Besides, it's the second gens that rule!!! :hail: :3gears:

I pretty much went thru the same thing just before I found this site. Sold my 1996 Firebird Formula with a 6 speed about a year after I got my 1969 Camaro. Now thanks to this board I am dead broke but I at least have my dream car in my garage. :rotfl:

Yup, been there too. Wife made me sell the '85 Trans Am I had been working on for six years when I bought my '69 Camaro. I kinda miss running the snot out of a 408 small block chevy, but my motorcycle satisfies my need for speed until I finish the Camaro.

You made the right choice! Good luck with your project.

I never would have found this site untill I saw the Mule. Then thats when I started to get these haunting visions of me building a 1st gen.
I can't keep both, God knows I'd like to but this needs to go to make room for the 1st gen. Sucks cause I put alot of time and money in this car but oh well I want a first gen. Have I said I want a first gen enough!!
If anyone knows anyone that wants a good fourth gen. pass then this e-bay link please.

I am willing to look at trades for a 69 camaro.
I haven't received any e-mails yet with trade offers.
