Need a mopar A body shipped from LA(California) to St. Louis(Missouri), roughly 1850 miles. It's a non-functioning car with a bunch of spare parts(vehicle sale is still pending). Anyone have an idea of shipping costs? Do most shippers require the car be functioning? Anybody making that run in the next couple of weeks and want to make some cash? Your help and advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks fellas.
Hap.

You pay extra for non-running. Technically it has to brake, steer and roll. Also not more than a hundred pounds of secured items may be inside car. Now I have talked with some that are willing to look past these pitfalls. I was told that those rules are DOT regulations by the companies that would not ship a car like that.

Does anyone have more info to back this up?

The info I have is only from talking with several different shippers. I decided to get the car I'm buying myself. That way I only have myself to blame for anything missing or broke.

Damn, just my luck. I'm looking at a Malibu in Liberty Missouri. Just a thought but I'm considering making the drive out there to pick up the Malibu. I can keep you posted to let you know if I head out that way. I should know within a week if you don't have it shipped by then.

It's true that you pay more for a "pusher".. also, you can transport non-hazzardous stuff in the car so long as the drivers seat is clear.

If it's a mess then save some $$ and go with an open carrier. Make sure you don't use a broker and try to deal direct with a company.

We just shipped g/28 from CA to AL for $700 on an open carrier.. that should give you an idea.

some brokers are more helpful than you think.
