Attaching 69 Camaro inner fenders to rolled fender lip

I'm looking for some opinions or feedback on a little dilema I've encountered while assembling the body on my 69 Camaro. The front fender lips are rolled up close to vertical. I didn't think about the inner fender until I went to install it. It of course can't attach to anything along that outer edge. I know rolling the fender lip is fairly common and was wondering what some people have done in this case to keep the inner fender in place and functional.

By the way, the inner fenders are already painted and so is the lip of the fender all the way around.

Any thoughts?

I cut out the outer portion of my inner fenders. That was where my tires rubbed anyway. You cant tell they are cut at all from the engine compartment and theres a lot more tire clearance. Maybe its not for everyone but it has worked for me.
