A lot of GREAT looking cars. Just from those pics alone it reminds me that even though I may not like one aspect of the build, I may like another. Paint vs. interior, as an example.

Yes!!! I would like to talk to the person who did this as well. I thought it was one of the best cars there, but then I'm partial to second genners. How did you like the drip rail? (or lack of) The detail on this car was great. There were a lot of people looking at this car when I was there.

Great pics, thanks for posting. You kept me hanging until page 7 though, before I got a glimpse of skin! I was beginning to think that SEMA was a regular sausage-fest this year.

LOL guys. My wife was downloading the pictures and must have been "editing" all the female shots, I will have a word with her about that...too funny. Anyone that knows me knows I love butt shots.
The black Pontiac is in the flowmaster booth, I will get some more tommorrow.
The orange nova has been built to look like a Z/28 if GM had done a Z nova. Has all the z/28 parts. Very cool piece, I will get more of it tommorrow too.

The drip rails bolt on on a second gen. I took them off of my '79, they screw on between the weatherstrip channel and the roof panel.

375mm is awesome, but the 21" diamater kills it. Larry was telling me that Pirelli has a 405 or 415 in their booth.

Steve, I went back today and looked at all four of these cars. It is truely hard to pick a favorite. At first I was all over the one outside, then since I know Bobby, his was on top, but in the end, man that Ring car is sweet. Just so many little things that really add up when it is all said and done.
Finally choice? Still looking at pictures, hard to say.

The craftsmanship on all of them is amazing. Though I don't care for the interiors on any of them. The Alloway car though dosen't do it for me. It sorta strikes me the same way as an Arlen Ness motorcycle.
Ness' bikes are meant to sit in some rich dudes garage, or on the floor of an indoor show and be enjoyed for their visual artistry, form and symetry. They are not meant to be ridden. In fact, many of them would be bloody dangerous to attempt to ride.
The Alloway cars strike me in a similar vein. Fantastic visual excecution, but it dosen't look like something one would drive.

Bill, couple questions. First off....tell us about those '69 Camaro bodies with what appears to be strut towers built into them. Who makes those? Whats the story on them? Also...the white and blue '67 pace car on the last page....is that the one "Chop Cut Rebuild" did? I'd love to see a few more pics of that one.
Thanks for all the great pictures. That is one hell of a show for g-machines.

Rocketman-
That '69 Impala was bitchin'. It was in the hallway leading to the main show entrance, and I just had to stop and check it out. It was a 427 with a manual trans. I have always had a special love of those cars, as I got my driver's license in a '70 Impala. We need to see more big GM cars done up this way!
The Ring Bros. Mustang, the Alan Johnson-built '71 Cuda, and the Troy-built '66 Biscayne were the best cars in the whole show. Those guys set the bar way high, and I'm already wondering how they're going to top it next year.

That is the coversion that puts the '69 body on a 4th gen chassis. Don't recall the name of the company off hand.

the name of the co. was retro rides.
All of the SEMA projects [that I saw] were quite lustworthy. If I had to take only one home...it would have to be Rings Mustang. It is an honor to have our air suspension under that car.
Actually, it is an honor to have our air suspension under all 85 cars that our customers brought to SEMA.
