Rod/Piston fitment...

I'm getting ready to send my engine parts out to the machine shop when I get back from Canada next week but the other day I was trial fitting a few things to see how it would all go together and ran into a couple of things that concern me a bit.
This may be nothing out of the ordinary but I have never dealt with parts like these so I thought I would ask in case I need to contact the manufacturers and have things replaced.

1st I tried fitting one of the pistons to the new rods. These are Wiseco pistons, 4.125 bore and 4340 H beam rods. When I got the rod onto the piston it would not rotate. The end of the rod on the wrist pin end would rub against the inner portion of the piston so that it would not go over center. Is this something that is normally resolved during the fitting and balancing portion of the build or should I be concerned?
The next thing that I didnt really care for was the fitting of the oil pan. It's a Moroso 7qt pan that I have ARP studs for and its going on a Dart little M Block. There are two problems that I can see;
1) Some of the bolt holes are just a bit off. I can ream the holes and then the pan would slide right on though.
2) the nuts for the studs are wide base and they will contact the side of the pan. I'm sure a little massaging will take care of this though. But again, is this normal for building an engine from all new parts?

You'll need to have the rod end "ground", sanded, etc. so it clears the piston, and then have it all balanced. Don't do it vice-versa, get everything to clear first or you'll be re-balancing the whole deal.

What brand of rod is it?

Eagle rods, I'm not going to need to take much off, maybe 2-3 thousandth. I just was not sure if this was typical. at least I can take down the ends before sending them over to shop to be balanced and save a few $$$ on labor.

I wouldn't say typical, but not super uncommon either. Definitely no big deal.
