The sportsmen key only allows tuning to some of the tables, and blocks others. Reason being these other tables can be tricky and they don't want you getting into something that can throw the whole tune off.
Problem is there are times when you may need an adjustment in a map that is not available with the sportsmen key. I understand why they did it, but do not particularly like it. I bought the pro key and the two combos I tuned both needed it.

What is the difference in cost?
I really do not like the idea of being "locked out" of certain areas of tuning.

I don't remember; I think it was $150-$200 more for the pro key.

I have the Sportsman Key and when I can part with the computer for a few weeks will get the firmware upgraded and the Pro Key for $200. I believe it's $150 if you buy it from the git-go. I've not needed the Pro Key, but there are a few areas where I believe it could help me refine my tune. I don't like it either.

That sounds reasonable. If I decide to change to the gen 7, I will get the pro key.
Thanks, Steve

Where can you get the key and firmware upgrade for $200?

Contact Mr. Gasket directly. You will need to send your computer in, but the last time I checked turn around was about 10 days. I haven't done mine yet.
