Ok, just want to make sure i understand what i need. i have a Lh6,5.3 with dod. i want to put a ls6 intake on it and a cam swap, i red that the heads on this engine are the ls6 type. casting on the heads are #799. so i need to change the acc, brackets im going to use f-body for that. also the intake and t/b but would i use everything fuel rail, injecters? for the cam swap would i use ls1 valve train or ls6? lifters, pushrods springs thanks for any input p.s im going to disable the dod

Check LS1.tech, killer site, tons to learn there,

I think the 5.3 heads just have a smaller chamber to raise compression, LS6 heads have sodium exhaust valves, aftermarket pushrods for sure, Ithink you would use all the LS1 intake stuff for the Nova swap, hope I helped alittle, Steve

I was talking to someone else about this, and was thinking, you could run the Edelbrock 4bbl type fuel inj. manifold and rails [$400},make an adapter for your throttle body{if its cable driven} and run all your stock truck acc. and brackets. And no 5.3 heads are not like ls6 heads. The 6.0 heads are the same except for chamber volume

I would defintally switch to the LS6 intake over the stock LS1 more power thru-out the hole powerband and will handle upto 450hp, and if you could find a set of casting # 243's real cheap worth the money also.
