There are a lot of free or low cost mods for LS-1 motors. I am a little reluctant on a few. Does anyone have any experience with the following mods?

I can tell you not to waste time on fuel "catalysts", which should really be referred to as snake oils. Anything that can claim to give 10-30% increases in economy and yet not be installed in every single over-the-road truck in this country is one of two things: The worst marketed device in existence, or a complete fake. I lean towards the latter of the two options.

PCV mod. That setup shown in the link is old school, before we started using nice catch-cans to seperate the oil from the PCV line. I had something similar done years ago on my '98, but it didn't work nearly as well as a catch can. This is the one to get:

EGR pipe mod is simple to do. Most conversion cars have the EGR system completely removed, so you might not even have that tube on your engine, especially if you have an LS6 intake on the engine. Otherwise, hack it off. Not really much (if any) performance gain to be had, but it doesn't hurt anything by removing that tube from the intake flow.

AIR tube restrictor plates seem to only be needed on MAC brand headers for the most part. I believe on later models they revised the AIR valves and they were quiet anyways. Again, most LS1 conversions don't have AIR systems installed anymore.

Fuel catalysts = junk. Just like those "Tornado Air" scam mods.

LS1's are all about breathing.. more in and better flow out..

Very nice website! I was looking at the subwoofers. Do you find you have enough room where the subs are installed to get a good response or thumb from them?
