Hi Guys,

I've been struggling over my header delima for some time now ...

It seems that every header out there has issues with my particular setup ... which is ... a procharged 383 with the raised port Fastburn Heads in a '68 Camaro without A/C and with factory power steering...

I must have at least 1 3/4" primaries but every header that I've seen that will work well with the D shaped, raised ports of the fastburn header either hits the pitman arm, steering box, and some need other things done to make them work ...

I've spoken to Dynatech about their new headers they have for 1st Gens ... They have 2 stepped versions : 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 and also a 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 ... They are actually on Summit Online right now ...

I'd love to try the 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 but I'm afraid of yet more fitment issues ... maybe I'll be the test subject ...

Let me know your thoughts or if you plan on trying these ...

-TIM

Got em,they fit ok except they kiss the dse box. They hang almost two inches below the frame rails.

Not exactly the same header you're asking about I know, but I'm running a pair of Dynatech tall deck headers with the 572 (2.125" primaries). They fit well except the #5 tube crosses right in front of the factory z-bar pivot location, necessitating the use of a hydraulic clutch. Also the front of the #7 tube wanted to share the same space as the big end of the pitman arm. I really hate having to 'dimple' a new set of coated headers...........

iM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING THEM FOR MY SMALL BLOCK 67.Prices are the same at jegs and summit 599.00 anybody see better prices out there. im looking at 401-911301 which is 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 step coated. Im running the new afr 195 heads and the corner to corner port dimension is like 1.66 so ill have to go with the larger primary.

I just saw this sorry for the late reply.

I have a 67 Camaro with a ZZ383 (has fast burn heads) I am running Hooker super comp ceramic coated 1-3/4" headers they are close (1/4"-1/2") from the power steering gear box, but they do not hit. I believe they are cheaper than $599.00.

It looks like it will clear fine. I still have to put mine back together, but I dont think it will be a problem. On the passenger side I do have a clearance issue with my lakewood bellhousing clearing. it should be an easy fix, just grind off 1/4 inch or so on the bellhousing and it should be good.
