Who is running a 4th gen rack and pinion ?
I have a 98 camaro R&P I want to use in my chevelle.
Did you guyz had to have it shorterned ? What was the process ?
the lenght ball joint pin to balljoint pin on my chevelle is 52inches but it is 57 inches on the 4th gen camaro. 5 inches too long...:pat:

In a year and six months... if you have not gotten an answer... that probably means that no one uses a late model rack because of the issues involved in narrowing a rack and the associate costs.
R&P's are not all that. Not considering that the late model boxes now have the same feel and ratio of a rack... without having to deal with the head ache of bumpsteer and ackerman issues with the Chevelle chassis to begin with.

Unless this has changed Marcus claimed that the Chevelle Rack from one of our sponcers met his needs well with little to no Bumpsteer .

Well yeah... if the rack is already the correct length for the application... it would make it easier.
Unfortunately, the time and cost involved to modify his current peice to get it to what someone has already figured out... is just not cost effective in this example.
