Hello,

I have been visiting this site for a while now and I am about ready to start putting my 69 Camaro back together. So, I figured this was as good a time as any to become a member.

My old camaro is due a rebuild. It was my daily driver during college then sat for a couple years after I entered the military. After sitting it needed a lot of work. I am ready to get it on the road again now that I have gotten a few other projects out of the way. Here is a basic description of the car:

Plain 69 Camaro
383 Stroker (somewhere around 500 hp)
TH350 w/shift kit and 1800 stall converter
3.08:1 open rear dif (need to change that)
Everything else is basically stock

Ultimately I want a great handling car for the street and twisty mountain roads and be able to head down to the local sports car club and hold my own on the autocross course. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The information contained within this site is a bit overwhelming at times, so sorry if I ask a question that has already been answered.

Thanks

Welcome and good luck with the project. Lots of options for a F body out there if I were able to start over again I would have made a better plan of action and stuck to it. Make sure you research ANYONE you are going have work on the car well before you hire them. That mistake cost me a large amount of time , money and aggrivation.

Welcome to the group. I would suggest looking at Detroit Speed & Engineering for suspension parts. Great company and great customer service. If you ever want to switch over to a 5-spd I would suggest Classic Chevy 5 Speed, also great customer service. Good luck on your build.

Sounds like a good start. Are you looking to go high end, or low buck? The guys around here will make you spend your money quick if you don't watch 'em! I'm only good for the low buck suggestions!
Welcome.
