View Full Version : What does time mean to you?

It was just 4:54 in the morning and it made me smile:yeah:
Does anybody else here ever look at a clock and see the displacement of engines and then think of a car? Times that come to mind that don't show up like 2:89 or 5:72 and others are either displacements I don't want or can't afford so think about it the next time you look at the time and let your mind wander!

Its not just time that catches my attention and makes me think of cars its just about any group of random numbers that come my way. Such as when paying for something and the total comes to $4.27 or $4.54 or I see numbers on a sign that are of significant automotive importance.
Should I see a doctor about this?.......nahhh:Alchy: .

I always notice engine displacments on mail boxes. When I was a kid I used to live at 1320 Spring Lawn Ct.
When paying for lunch, if the amount is close to a popular engine displacement I always round up to that number for the tip. Of course it's all but impossible to buy lunch for $3.50, $3.96, $4.54 or even $5.72 anymore.........

I always wake up from nightmares at 3:03am...everytime. Then I found out that 3:00 am is the beginning of the Demon hour or Witches hour in some sects. ok now im creeped out again....4:20 doesn't mean anything to me anymore.
Also my OCD makes me sit if my clock reads 1:23 till my clock switches to 1:24
Dude, you need help Quick! ;)
Since I was a kid, I've always taken special notice when the time is 4:27. It just makes me happy. :D

I used to have this problem with seeing Boeing model designations, now I just have problems describing symptoms of injuries/pain as 'passenger side' or 'driver side' of my body without realizing it.

I about died when I got my last cell phone number a few years back, it has 409 and 502 in it. And I didn't even pick it, that's what they gave me!

Time is merely an event so that everything doesnt happen all at once.
At work I have to deal with a lot of number coded boxes. So I see engine sizes, calibers, porsche body designations, and computer processor codes.
I get very very very bored.

You can always buy lunch for 8.14 but I dunno why you'd want a mountain motor in a street car :attn:

I even see it when I get fast food order numbers. Not just displacements but years too. Can you guess my favorite?

Glad somebody owned up to the 11:34 deal (or "Hell Time", as we call it), I was beginning to think it was just me.
After twelve years in accounting all sets of numbers seem to have significance no matter how random. But the car related ones are always good to run across.

Yesterday I hopped into my truck and fired 'er up. 4:20am and 23,666 miles on the odometer. 666 and 420 all in one go. I almost went back to bed.

I see engine displacements in time too :D , and engines and model years in totals of purchases. It kind of weirds cashiers out when a 25yr old says "That was a good year" or "Good motor" when the total comes to $19.56 or $3.46 or something like that :) .
