View Full Version : 67GT500/04 Cobra COnversion

10-13-2006, 07:09 AM
Well, I got my 67Fb back from the paint shop, and we are beginning the mechanical build
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif The body is in 67 GT500 theme, the Engine and Trans are both 04 Cobra. We are upgrading to get about 475RWHP out of it for now, while still idling as smooth as stock. A whipple may come later. 4 link rear suspension conversion, with a Martz chassis front subframe. Anyway, when finished, should be an excellent driving and looking car.

Here is a link to the project page (http://www.ls1speed.com/gt500/index.cfm)

Yeah, I bought the rims before I had the car back from the paint shop. I may have to get these widened, as I believe they only come in 18x8.

Damn fine car! almost had my hands on one this weeka 66 tho....got beat too it ....when I showed up with my trailer and cash in hand the guy said it just sold too the first guy who saw it...$8500 for an all original, minor rust, driving fastback :hand: ...more pics please this thing is definatly gonna be a blast too drive...did you get rid of the impala?

WhiteG240 - it has a 2.76 upper and a 4# lower

Viperblue68 - The Impala is 99% done and they are both planned around the same time Tom's 1969 LS1 Camaro was sold. The Impala is not going anywhere.... unless you are making an offer ;)

very nice. Did you remove the shocktowers and use Mustang 2 front suspension? Does anyone use Corvette or something more performance oriented for the front suspsneion?

WE used this:

But Supplied the brakes and Coil overs, since we are a Wilwood and QA1/Carrera Dealer.

Approximately how much boost is that? Sounds like a really cool car. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Is that a duct or spoiler under the front valence?

05-21-2007, 05:49 AM
It is a shroud to divert air into the heat exchanger.

Snake Pilot
05-21-2007, 04:52 PM
Is the shroud custom or did it come off of something else?
