I researched heavy metal songs by a few of my favorite bands (Judas, AC/DC, Scorps, etc.) until I found a handful that personified the car in its furious form. So far it is Painkiller, but we'll see if that sticks...the nice thing is that the car is my mental painkiller at times!

How about Volcano or Magma.
Magma is the molten rock under the surface that turns into lava when it erupts. The color of your car is similar to the color of Magma.

How about the “Bird of Paradise” or “Flight of the Phoenix”

In your garage you called your project “Overkill” (I like that name too!)

why does it have to have a name? just because all the others do? how about "cookie cutter" or "meaningless"? a name should be fitting and have some meaning or reason behind it. if you are stuggling for a name then you lacking that.

What's wrong with naming a project? Kinda gives it character!

I thought it already had a name....overkill...as I named it a year ago or Black sheep cuz it has a BBC in a Poncho.

WOW what alot of respones.overkill was the original but if i am not mistaken there is a car with that name.i was given that name by my freind since when i started this it was gonna be a simple rebuild, then i went crazy and did all the mods i could hence the name overkill.i was only gonna change it since i thought there was a car by the same name.

How about you call it the [ The F-BOMB ]. For a couple reasons its an f-body, Bombs either have red or orange on them, Best of all if I saw that car in person that would be the first thing out of my mouth. Looks like its going to be a sweet ride.

Well, it`s red and it`s a firebird. Call it project RedBird:)

Drewhelm

It's "Go Mango"....more orange than red. :)

I named it overkill for more than just the overkill in HP and mods, but the fact that EVERY seam that was originally spot welded was completely welded.....

I like Pheonix ,never seen it used before either. I can remember a night about 2yrs ago at work I told the people on the line to"go man go or go mango go mango" and then recently I saw it in a commercial for something. I kind of like it too!

Sometimes you have to find something in common with your car to justify the name so "Go Mango" Firebird would be a good choice with the color of it and the already commercial appeal for the name.

But all in all "Pheonix" is a good name since it too is a bird of fire. You could also call it the "Flaming Pheonix" but if it ever catch on fire it will really fit but Firebirds already had that problem when they made them to start with.

GM used the name Cormaro when they built the prototype C5 under a couple of 95 Camaros. I had already been using it several years before that and use an alternate Z51 Camaro at times for mine.

You could flip a coin on it but it will come to you when finally hear it or hear a friend say they like it too.
