Ok this is kinda a long story and not PT related but cool none the less. See I have been looking for a convertible for a few months now and had a few deals fall thru. I flew down to the GG Ft. Worth show and ran across this 36. I took a ton of pics and talked to the guy a few times, I just could not pull the trigger. Flew home and was telling the wife about how much I like the car yada yada yada.... Well Thursday rolls around and I get the stones to call and buy the car. Call the dude..... "Sorry man, It's SOLD". Now I am pissed cause it seems like have this black cloud of car buying floating over me. All day Friday I am brewing......I get home Friday and stay up late looking for a ride. I find this car that I think I can do (not really what I wanted but hey). Anyway, our son is up sick at 2am Sat. morning. The wife and I are up talking and I show her this new ride I am looking at. She say "Yeah its nice but the only problem I see is it wont fit in the garage with a 36." I say "Why do you want to be like that! You know I am pissed that I missed that car!" Conversion goes on and I say I'm going to call on the car I found online. She say "I still don't think it will fit in the garage with a 36." Now I getting a little pissed and I say "Look he sold that car." This is where she says " Yeah I know I bought it." Do what? Hold the boat? WTF?....... "if you bought it, it would show in our account". She says "Huh, lets check online and see" Sure enough the money was missing. I did not know what to say... .what could I say. I have the COOLEST wife out there. She had called the guy and bought the car. She told the seller that I would probably be calling and to tell me it was SOLD. She want it be a surprise waiting in the garage but she was afraid I would buy the other car online if I did not know. How cool is this. I have known for several days but did not want to jinx the deal in anyway. So here it is in all its glory. I love my wife and family and this is just the coolest thing to happen to me EVER. Still don't see what she sees in me.

You know something??? That is the coolest story I've heard and congrats. Every time you take that car out, you'll remember how it came to be yours (and hers, too) and it will bring a smile.

Gorgeous car and enjoy!!!

yeah Kenny it is a glass car, no interior. I am thinking about stretching the interior back like a club cabriolet (small back seat) and the use a 37 club cabriolet folding top matted to the front of the 35 top. Kind of a phantom 36 club roadster I guess. I will get it here and see if I think it will work. I think it would make for a cool idea. How it the convertible you got? Stop by at SEMA, where you staying?

that car sits great , i like the idea of the club cabriolet look. i love 36 roadster !
my droptop is going well , airride is done , mustang 2 bear brakes, 9in rear 4 link , shockwaves,69 427 ci 435hp , sits on the ground with 20x10 and 18x7 billet spec wheels. ,we are in the process of fitting the doors and fenders and trying to decide if we are going to paint it silver w red guts or make it a flat olive green driver .

staying at circus circus or spearmint rhino , where are you staying ?

I like the Silver/red combo, that car sounds to nice to just be a "driver".after the ideas you were talking about at Kansas,it should a little nicer than a "driver".

Similar thing hapen to me. I sold my 32ford this spring after the company I worked for went chapt11. I figured I would buy a first Gen camaro in a few years. I found a pro-touring 67 on ebay. My father-inlaw kept trying to talk me into buying it but I felt guilty. Then all of a sudden my wife said the car is gone! she said "I always wanted to click the BUY IT NOW button, happy fathers day!" Luckily the car was worth the money
