I want to run drop spindles on me G-Body project. I will have aftermarket upper and lower control arms also.
Should I run B-Body drop spindles to help the suspension geometry or the G-Body drop spindles because the control arms will help the geometry?

What control arms are you using? And are you doing the big brake upgrade? Im running the SCandC stage II setup with the stock spindles and the difference is like night and day..

you could go with the ATS spindle and reap the benefits of the b-body spindle without the bumpsteer.

I am going to be using wither BMR or Spohn.
And arnt the ATS really expensive?

those arms aren't going to do much for your geometry the spohn lowers arent going to do anything but look pretty. The B spindles may help but the BMR uppers wont do much at all..

Talk to Marcus at scandc.com His stage II kit helps with the geometry and the tall upper and lower ball joints gets rid of the bump steer and the tall lower BJ's will drop the front end up to A half inch with your stock spindles and stock LCA.Thats if you haven't bought the upper and lower arms and B spindle.

from what i understand:
aftermarket lower arms may be lighter/stronger/prettier but they have exact same geometry
the taller b-body spindle offers geometry gains, but at the expense of bumpsteer. all the geometry gains can be had with taller howe ball joints, but without the bumpsteer problems
aftermarket upper arms will be needed with tall ball joint or tall spindle because stock ones will need to be shimmed an excessive amount to align.
the most elegant way to increase the height of the spindle is with the ATS spindle, but it is also pricier...also the G-5 package is even better, but even pricier than the ATS spindle.
I would suggest tall upper and lower ball joints, g-body drop spindle, stock LCA w/ del-a-lum bushings, and SPC adjustable upper arms. Thats what im gonna go with for my S10 which basically the same suspension as the g-body. If you feel like the stock LCA is ugly/weak/heavy, then the spohn looks like a very nice piece. Also can be ordered with coilover mounts only, which is nice.

i am seriously considering the global west negative roll kit, it contains the taller spindle from the b.body, a shorter upper contrill arm to avoíd the excessive shimmimg otherwise required to allign th efrfont... but it has a great advantage over the lowered spindle, it fixes the granny-safe handling gm designed .. its a no drill gulstrand mod... and its 1000 bucks including 12 inch LS rotors, spindles, calipers and misc hardware..

there is no gulstrand mod to do with taller ball joints.
the b-body spindle creates bumpsteer problems which the taller ball joints dont.
the spc control arms are adjustable. no shims required.
the tall ball joints offer about the same amount of negative camber as the b-body spindle.
g-body/S10 spindles easily adapt to C5 brakes if youre thinking about upgrading brakes.
there are absolutely NO ADVANTAGES to using the b-body spindle.

+ it slows down your steering ratio, and increases the turning radius...
A great swap indeed!

I have the BMR upper and lower and over the stock arms they do lower the front But I have the QA1 coil over system, I am using stock spindles I used to use drop spindles the car handles better than ever, yes I do have some shims in it for the alinement. The SCC arms are great but i drive my car on the roads in Ohio and they are not smooth like down south. GBGM I have a set of dropped spindles it you need them. thanks EJ:bananna2:

Did you get any new pics of your car yet?

XCESSIV,we drive one of our G body test cars with our Stage 2 suspension and adj. arms out to the SEMA Hotrod and Resto show in Indy every year. Ohio roads are no sweat. They`re much better than paved wagon ruts we have here in Pa. ;) Mark SC&C

my point was nothing other than the taller impala spindle increases the angle of the upper controll arm to give a more agressive camber curve, just like the gulstrand mod, and shelby upper arm relocate does for that matter... the dropped spindle retains std height, and thus leaves the camber curve unchanged...
weather the sc&c has enough adjustment room to work with a b-body spindle and offset shafts i just dont know.. but im guessing markus does
and to answer the actuall question posted in the thread... weather to run b-body drop spindles... it wouls be a great idea, asuming the UCA can eb adjusted acordingly

The AFX spindle whether dropped or not does increase the overall height providing the same benefits of the taller height that the "B" spindle does...without the massive drawbacks.
Spell check...it's your friend.
