Hey everyone... My name is Brian, and I've been lurking here for a loooooong time, and finally found the free time to make an effort at posting here. No car at present (recent baby/cross-country moves-- yes, moves plural!--and going full-time at self employment) have put that on the back-burner, but I have the green light from the fairer half, and am hunting for a second-gen Firebird to feed the urge.
Looking forward to hanging here... so many great people and so much knowledge in one place!

Hey Brian,
Welcome to the site! This is a great forum with tons of good info, as you said. There are a lot of 2nd-gen f-body guys here for you to get ideas from. Check out my project when you get a chance at http://www.fquick.com/Bandit
I am trying to build a Trans am that does everything well. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm no expert by any stretch, but I have had 2 Firebirds for a long time, and I can at least help you avoid some common pitfalls so you can build your project without wasting as much time and coinage as I have!
Paul
PS Where do you hail from?

Hey guys--
Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, Ben... I've been a bit slow getting here... hopefully that slow stuff will go away once we get settled (back) into the Valley! ...and when we find the right project, you guys will never hear the end of it! And Bandit, nice ride! Anyone that can save me coin via good advice is more than appreciated!
Looking forward to some good times, and learning what I can... not to mention sharing whatever knowledge I can... thanks again!

Cool to see another soon to be Second Gen Firebird owner.
What year are you looking to pick up?

We've been hunting for an *ahem* affordable '70-'72... OK I have... the wife has a thing for '78 Gold Edition T/A's.... we'll see what we find.

Cool, you just have to keep looking.
I just picked up a 71 Firebird with a 350/Auto and it came with a 400 in a seperate subframe. The guy gave us all the parts to make it a complete car. All for $2,000. Just keep your eyes open, you'll find one.
