My name is Jay and I currently live in Carson City, Nevada. I'm retired but my wife still works but that'll change soon and then we'll move to Austin, TX.

I've got a '68 Camaro that needs lots of work. It's already got some good things like a 454 with a TCI Turbo 400 and TCI convertor, a complete MSD ignition system and a 4:11 posi twelve bolt.

The paint and interior is good but still needs some work and the suspension is completely stock with drum brakes. The car was originally a small block with powerglide.

I want to change both the front and rear suspension for something more modern and I'm open to suggestions and I want this car to handle. I definately want to go disc brakes on all four corners and change the rear gear to something that'll make it a freeway or mountain road cruiser. I also want to put some wheel and tires under it so it will handle much better with upgraded suspension pieces.

I'll welcome any responses.

Welcome Jay, sounds like you're off to a good start on your project car. You are definitely in the right place if you need info to help you set up your '68 to handle. There are more serious road-going f-bodies represented on this site than you can shake a stick at!

I envy you for being in sunny Nevada, where you can drive your hot rods all year 'round!

Got any pics of your 'maro?

Paul

Thanks for the welcome. The only pictures I have of the car are when it was unloaded from the carrier and it's really dirty. I'll have to roll it out in the sun and take a few pictures and get them posted.
