Are 1st gen camaro steering arms hardend steel?

Thinking of welding somthing too them just wanted to know if they are hardend.

I don't think so, get a file and see if it cut's into it. If it does it's not hard.

wether they are hardened or not they are still a casting and a vital one at that. I would highly recommend you leave them alone or have a new set machined to your specs.

Oh they are cast Iron not cast steel? If they are cast Iron listen to camaro Zach don't do it.

They are forged steel, probably heat treated. GM mentioned shot peened on some over the counter arms.
I would not weld on them if at all possible.
