I am thinking of putting a set of 68 doors on my car.
When I go to the track the vent window blocks my view going into the left hander. I like the looks an function of the vent but it cuts down the ability to look ahead by quite a bit.
Is this a big sin? Will I be hung at the first show I go to?

i'm told that it's not a simple bolt on modification. Am led to believe that the pillar/hinge is different between the 2 years.

I much prefer the look of the 68 doors though.

It can be done easily with a hybrid 67/68 door hing

I say go for it if you need the vibility

Is it possible to just swap out the glass and window units or are the mounting locaitons different?

As was previously stated, the modification would require a hybrid door hinge. The '67 and 68 hinges are different animals. The bolt paterns on the cowl are different, and I think the door bolt pattern MAY be different. Modifying the door would probably be just as nuch of a PITA as fabricating new hinges.

Just cut the inner structure (flat part the door panel lays against) out of the 68 door and weld it in the 67 door. This will allow you to use the 68 glass, regulator and other parts. Should not be hard to find donor 68 doors since it is usually the bottom or out skin that rusts, not in flat inner structure.

Maybe someone can comment on what modification if any is needed on the A pillar. At the very least I would think you will need a different piece of A pillar stainless and the channel to mount the weatherstripping that meets the side glass.

I am under the impression it is easier to alter the hinges on the shell & install a 68 door. Seach Team Camaro (http://www.camaros.net/forums/index.php) for it, I am sure it has been discussed a bunch of times.

I'd say leave the vent wondows, but I am biased.
