Well, we've had one long SEMA thrash this week. Art and I both clocked in around 80+ hours a piece on the Vette, and on Saturday, we had a total of five people (including Art and I) put in around 12 hours a piece on the car. Engine & trans are in, doors are hung, front chrome hung, wiring roughed in, some CF goodies made, and it went off to the upholstery shop at around 4pm today. It's been a thrash, but the light is at the end of the tunnel, and the car is looking like we want it to........ Can't wait for you guys to see it live at SEMA. Unveiling Haloween 11:30ish at the K&N booth.

I'm the bike geek. Used to ride a lot, but now that some of the great single track areas around are now housing developments I haven't been out in a while. It would be fun to go out and eat some more dirt.

I've got a Klein Mantra Race.

Here's a little bit of trivia for you. Back in the early 1980's, AME built mountain bikes for a local bike shop, and the spokesperson for the bikes was none other than Jim Zorn, Seahawks QB. We still have one in the garage in all of its old school glory.

That is way cool - Next time i'm in your neck of the woods i would love to go for a ride and if you ever in Chicago we can hit the trails out here. I have plenty of bikes you can ride.

Thanks for the offer! I actually think we have the end in sight though. We pick up the car from upholstery tonight, and start bolting on the side trim tomorrow starting at 6am.

The fender top trim ( now made out of milled brass bar stock since the stock/repop stuff was POS) is getting coppered again today so we can re block it and the CF parts are trickiling in.

Rough wiring was done before it went to the upholstery, and now we can start doing the final wiring.

The interior is coming out awesome! I think I am gonig to keep that under wraps until Vegas. It's very clean, very racy and should get some serious looks.

Glad you guys are digging it!

Well, we picked up the car last night from the upholstery shop. It looks AWESOME!!!! :firefire: Massive props to the guys at McFarland Upholstery that turned this mother out in four days:hail: . Side trim went on today, door top trim went on, radiator went in, PS pump plumbed, more wiring done, plumbing schematic done, gauge cluster wired, and lots of little parts went satin black. Up at 4:30 tomorrow to continue the thrash!

Finally started a friendship with my neighbor of 4 years the other day, he has been sponsored since age 6 my Vans for BMX, as well as moutain biking, downhill is his area. Injuries have led him to a different career, but at age 37 he still gets great items from his lifetime sponsors. What a trip...

I've got a few more pics to share since this may get missed at SEMA.

Looks like a normal front of a Vette with funky BMW headlights......

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2006/10/DSC06739vi-1.jpg

But a closer look something looks a bit different..... Hey weren't these cars built with a flat panel there behind all that chrome?

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2006/10/DSC06741vi-1.jpg

Hey, that's no longer a flat panel, its a scoop for the brake ducting!

One last shot showing the routing of the hose from the scoop to the backing plate. Note scoop is screened off to prevent any debris from getting into the brakes. Hope you digged the pics!

Hey Craig, any chance that us local boys could get a sneak peek before SEMA?

I'll check with Art to see if a little NW preview could go down.

Brakes are bled
Gauge cluster is mounted
wiring is almost done
Upholstery is finished
All the chrome goodies are almost back
Decklid gets hung tomorrow!

Still about 300lbs of "stuff" to go onto the car, but with me in the drivers positon, car weighs in at 2538. So it should be in the 2800-2900 range "wet" with driver.
