keep in mind it was cold windy and 6000 feet above sea level.
We had ignition issues that prevented us from revving beyond 4800-5000 rpm in any gear. One Viper was TT the other SC, the GT was SC as well.
Check the distances.
One more thing, I drove the car 250 miles from Vegas and drove 250 back to Vegas after the event, at 20mpg.
Thanks to Optima for my being there!

Congrats, Is that the fastest you have had the Ultima GTR? If not what is the top speed?

Jeff, that is entirely disgusting looking at those numbers. Even if you didn't have that ignition problem, it looks like nobody had ANY chance against you. I mean, good lord!!! 0-190-0 in less time than it took anyone to get from 0-160-0!!!! You are now officially psycho in my book. I'd like to shake your hand at SEMA.

Big Red lives right down the street from the shop where I am working on Penny.. Local gossip says they are tearing apart BR and doing a rebuild. Stuff like shaving the drip railings for better aero and doing motor work.
Like I said, it's the local rumor ;)
Guess he wants to win the title next time.

If you start to do the numbers somebody better bring one of those Bugatti's or they won't stand a chance against Jeff the next time. It would seem to be that the Ultima will be able to do around 250mph with all of the rpm's going to the redline. The big guess will be if it is rpm limited or drag limited at that point and I don't see that much drag on the Ultima and if it can go 6500 rpm or 7000rpm it will be incredible but 6000 rpm will still blow away most anybody that shows up.
Congratulations Jeff
What is the CD of an Ultima? Anyone know?

Jeff,
It took you 39.8 secs to get to 190.2 MPH, how long to get from 190.2 to 0?

That's freakishly fast.
JMarsh. 0-190.2 in 28.1, total 0-190.2-0 in 38.8

Nice. Windy, huh? Was it hairy?
Second pass a gust hit me as I was applying the brakes, almost went off the road, pushed me all the way to the edge. I'd say there was 30-40 mile hour cross winds. After everyone left the event site we were still working on the car it started snowing.
Sunday AM it was 17 degrees in Ely!
CD is .30, Top speed is gearing limited to 235 mph right now.
Jason, 39.8 was total.
Should do the standing 1/4 mile in 165-170 will try b4 SEMA.
I was on the dyno til 1:30 am day before we left, so no road testing prior. The car will be in the Hahn Racecraft Booth at SEMA who assisted in engineering/component selection. The engine and turbo system was built by us in our shop.

The SIlver State Challenge Event on Sunday was a blast.
I started ahead of Rick Doria in his F40. I had no navigator, nobody crazy enough to ride along. So I taped 5 reference mile marker points and the time I needed to be at those points on the dash, had a stopwatch around my neck. My goal was to be within a minute of target time 150mph average. About 10 miles in he passed me, so I followed him after a point they call the "narrows". Then passed him back a stretched it out some. Picture driving along at 165-172 mph, one hand on the wheel, reaching for stop watch in the other, and looking for mile markers, checking against the watch, pretty busy. I wish there was a video from one of the planes of those 2 cars ripping along, would been sweet.
I came in 28 seconds late, which is a ton in that event, but really, it woulda been like driving from Vegas to Chicago and being 9 minutes late.

Jeff, since you did win the 0-2-0 event, I guess we can let you off the hook for not being here last weekend, however, just don't let it happen again......lol
Seriously, congrats on the win, what a car! (driver not bad either)

Bill, I wanted to be at your event, Drag Week and
the Nopi Nationals in Atl (only to look at hot chicks of course).
All were scheduled at the same time.

Jeff
I don't know if there was any information on this car somewhere but are you still putting all that power through a G50 - if so how did you prep it and if not what are you using ?
One of my biggest impediments to a mid-engine project si the cost/fragility of the transaxles available.

1/4 mile in 165-170??? Have any dyno numbers to back this up? If you do congrats, you have a true supercar.

The car weighs 2360#, doesn't load the trans much.
G50/52 Turbo box has approx 9" ring gear. They run about $12,000 used. We changed the gearing, billet side cover with thrust button against ring gear, added a torsen style diff.
Beefed up halfshafts that we make, guaranteed unbreakable.
Didn't get good chassis dyno numbers due to problems revving past 4800, which turned out to be a cam sensor. Will have numbers later this week. Made 700 rwtq at 4200 with 10# when we were having problems. I always back things up.

$12,000 ??
That makes the Mendeola option seem a lot more reasonable.
Well that's a big reason I never went forward with a mid engine project. I know the guys build used G50's for $2500-6000, but it always seems like a weak link and getting the proper gearing and LSD is more difficulty and expense as well.

Mendeola only had 4 speeds back when I built the car in 2002.
And it won't fit the chassis without cutting it up some.
Had it on the dyno Tues, lights the tires on the roller when boost comes in.
Tried every thing, compressing suspension, etc.
