here is a picture of a 69 camaro with 4th gen interior, By the way, it is not my car,it might be interesting to you, and hopefully it will give you some ideas how the 1st gen would look like with 4th gen interior.

good luck

Here is how I am doing mine. Not the coolest way but it works. In this pic you can still see some wiring. I now have that covered with black conduit so it doesnt show. I wish I knew how to work with fiberglass or carbon fiber. You could probably do some really cool stuff that way!

Best of luck!

Did you hook up the console e-brake handle? I also noticed you are using the stock shifter or is that temporary? If so, what did you have to do to connect to the tranny linkage?

Yes, I did hook up the e-brake. And I am using the stock shifter. Is that bad? I thought it looked good. As for hooking it up, it came with the cable and shifter. I bought the correct shift lever to mount to the trans (700r4 instead of 4l60) and it works good. Obviously, you have to fab some brackets to make it all mount correctly but not too difficult.

No the stock shifter looks great. In fact I was planning on using it when I install my 4th gen console. I was really more interested in how you mounted the ebrake handle and how you attached it to the rear brakes (cable routing).

I got all the cables and body mounted brackets from the junk yard. I then modified them to fit my application. I used some plate steel to re-inforce the floor pan where I mounted the e-brake , etc. I dont have any pics or I'd post them. But, using the LS1 Camaro brakets as much as possible helped to adapt it to my car. I used the LS1 cables all the way back to the calipers. I had to use some clamps to hold them in place but they look great. Looks stock which is what I wanted.

As for the shifter, I had to fab some mounts/spacers to get the shifter to set properly in relaion to the console, if that makes any sense. The floor board/trans hump in the late model Camaro must be more angled or funky shaped!

I believe LOKAR products makes some cables to hook up a hand brake to the rear emergency brakes.

Here are some more examples of custom. You can buy a set of molded panels (1400.00 see other threads) and would still have to cover them and in the end they look just like everyones.
