Whats up everybody! Italian Bullitt hailing from the land of Pizza, Pasta, and Ruins. I'm here with my new toy, my 2001 Bullitt Mustang and I'm loving it! No speed limits, wide open roads and race tracks everywhere. I got introduced to this Forum by a good friend of mine Paul AKA "Bandit". Great guy with a cool car and I hate to say it but I have been the driving force behind acouple of his mods. For instance that slush box TH350 had to go and a Pro-touring cars isn't any fun without a gearbox to bang through. So in went the Expensivo TKO 600. And those 15" Snow flakes had to go. They are still cool but don't help handling at all.
Back to the new guy here. Don't know how you guys will accept me because I'm running a newer "Classic" vehicle but here I am. I want the Ol' Bullitt to be good at everything from Drag to Drift and everything in between. I do all my own work with the help of friends and that is the way it should be.
Some pix might help put me out there.

It's hard to make a Mustang Different but I'm sure trying. If the wife permits I will be snagging a Paxton Novi 2000 S/C kit to add some more ummph under the hood. If I blow this crap box 5spd Tremec 3650 a T56 6spd Cobra tranny will take it's place.
Now say something Paul! Lol!
Later guys and gals.

Yep, a 6.1L AWD 420hp Hemi went down to the little 280ci Mustang. The right mods put you right where you want to be. I want to see how it fares with my buddies 2006 BMW M3 SMG. Then It's time to see what The lil 281 can do against the Mighty 408 BB TransSlam. My thing is I like any car that goes fast, handles well, looks goods and sounds mean.
BTW Paul when we putting the Wilwoods on the Ol' TransSlam?

Don't be bashfull fellas If you don't like it then say so and if you do then say so. I'm a car guy to the bone and hopefully a 66-68 fastback Bullitt clone is in my future to park next to the 01'.

Welcome to the site, J. Don't worry about having a late model, all performance cars are welcome on pro-touring.com. My main car at the moment is my '01 SS, as my'68 is still in the bodywork phases. I like the mods you've done to your mustang, very tasteful, the car looks mean. What do you think you're at performance wise in the 1/4? Those SRT-8 jeeps are goot for mid-13s or better, no? There are no speed limits in Italy?

Well I only have a CAI, catback, X-pipe and a dyno tune but these wheels are like weight dragging me down. I think I'm into the mid to low 13's on street tires. I will lay down some passes when I get it back to Houston with some DR's and these street tires. There are speed limit signs but nobody enfocing them. Late night high speed runs can be done without worry of unwanted police attention. That Jeep Hauls Azz I know that 4 sure. Thats why I was suprised I was able to keep up with him no less pull on him.

Yeah, definitely a nice kill on the Jeep. Very cool on the speed runs as well. I've heard the drivers are crazy in Italy, I suppose a phantom law enforcment is reasoning behind that.

Welcome to one of the greatest sites on the 'net. Beautiful Stang! If it can turn better than stock, stop better than stock, and accelerate faster than stock, you've got a ProTouring car in my eyes. I have a "later model" ride too, compared to all these '60's Camaros and Mustangs!
Hey, any chance either you or Paul can score me a real Italian license plate? My wife was born in Calabria and it would be awesome to have an Italian plate hanging down here to go along with my collection of US plates. Shoot me a PM if it's possible! :)

Well the only problem with snaging you an Italian plate would be the Police report that would go along with it. They are serious about missing plates out here. If I come across a lone plate consider it yours. BTW I love those 80's Montes. The stock 305's left something to be desired but looks like you did the right thing with ZZ4 Crate motor.
Hey J, Welcome aboard. I used to have a 95 GT (last of the 5.0's) that I drove the crap out of. As I was single back then, it was immaculate and the only problem I ever had were some warped rotors (gee...........no idea how that happened???) and a leaky shifter. After 50K miles, I traded it in and that was it for nice daily drivers
I switch between new and old, domestic and import and have finally concluded as Ralph has, anything tweaked to deliver overall performance and style is cool in my book. Your Bullet fits that bill IMHO.
I've been PM'n with Paul and he seems like a great guy as well.

What the? Why? My wife is from there and it seems like a nice place. There is a TON of fast cars there and a couple nice tracks too. So whats the problem?

Half of the thugs from New Orleans moved there after Katrina and the Murder rate doubled. Ohh, and traffic sucks and you can cut the humidity with a knife.
