Well having the fronts I REALLY want something bigger than the teeny little calipers and rotors that are currently on my c4 irs.

I can only seem to find one company that makes adapters for c5 brakes on c4s, the thing is its the same price for rears or fronts adapted to the rear...

My question is what kind of issues will i have if i put the front 6 piston calipers and 14" rotors out back, given all in all it will be about $20 more... I see a bunch of guys with the baer 6s on all four corners, so i guess its reasonable. Would i be right to assume it will just give me more unsprung weight and reciprocating mass?

I dono 14" rotors and 6 piston calipers would just be too freakin cool!

Edit: After a few minutes of looking it looks like Fuel and Camaro x both have the baer 6s on all four corners, least of all id suspect mark steilow to pick form over function... odd

IMO, it's totally unnecessary and only adds extra rotating mass.

Heck, C5R racers use 13" up front. But there's more to it than that...

Yup, sure is.... kinda like the fact that they are using 14"+ full carbon rotors in the front and C class APRacing six pistons.

A six piston on the rear is a complete waste, of effort and money.

In the reality of speed, a minor increase in unsprung mass and rotational inertia are more than overstated. But, the actual benifits greatly out weigh the overstated. The addition of a simple four piston rear with a 13" rotor is more than enough for a chassis with its majority of time being on the streets.

I run a 14x1.4" six piston on the front and a 13x1" four piston on the rear and have to say that it is completely over kill for most. If you are gonna step up to something of this nature, function over form would be the only thing to justify the funds required. Blingy, bling bling.... is for people that get their parts for free and those who have too much money and not enough brains to spend it correctly.

But to each their own.... I say.

Well on that note, it would be just as easy, the company that builds brackets for c4 rears builds them for the front or rear calipers at the same price. The reason for playing with the idea is that the only difference in price between the fronts and rears is $10 per rotor.

So knowing full well there isnt any performance gain (I want it because i think it would look "cool") from it I was just asking what ill be loosing performance wise.

If I were all about performance above looks I sure as hell wouldnt have started out with a 68 camaro.:smoke:

Oh and i guess its worth saying that ill have just over $2k in my brakes wether i go with the 4 or 6 piston rears... Dont think I could get some c4 based baers for that much.

give me your front brakes and use 4 piston all arround so your car can match nicely
