"Murder By Death" was the opening act last night. Never heard of them but they weren't bad, a bit of a Rev. Horton Heat sound to some of their songs.
Not sure who it is tonight.
the Pogues.. I dig them. Living so close to boston I have some hooligan friends that always take me out for a good time. Nothin like Irish bars especialy during St. Patties day, or when the sox are playing the yankees

I'm still stuck on 60's ,70's,80's Hard Rock/Metal. And Southern Rock.
Everthing from Black Sabbath, to the Allmans, to Booker T and the MG's.
Even Elvis and Hank too !

The Pogues announce that they will announce West Coast dates in the fall of 2007.
No certain dates or venues but a list of intended cities.

You don't know who Joe Strummer is?
psst......The Clash
He sang with the Pogues for a few years after McGowan left the first time because the band was afraid he was dying. Stummer is now dead. McGowan can't be killed.

Yeah I saw the post heading and thought Rush, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, U2 or some other "real" band.... The Pogues? :bsjerk:
Different strokes I guess.... Or I'm just too old.
Dickie Betts rules BTW....

Yeah I did - sorry but I just don't dig drunk can't carry a tune Irish punk music. I was going for an Irish band that I think can carry a tune and U2 popped into my head. I do like U2 but they aren't in the same class as those others I mentioned. You want good Irish folk music - dig on Clannad....
But hey I mean no disrespect - just different strokes for different folks.... One of my fav acts is Van Morrison but when I tell people that they look at me strange.

I like the first few U2 albums. But the point at which Bono began to think his opinion mattered I lost interest.

Yep - I agree. Along with actors and other public figures who think their opinions are more important than ours and feel they have to "guide" us.

Opps should have mentioned that I knew that. I guess I should have put something more like I heard he was playing for a band but never got to check them out before he died and I think I will check out the band he "was" with.
BTW:
Saw about 5 Clash shows. Saw them in LA about three times and I know I saw them twice in San Diego at the Fox down town. Met Bob Dylan at one of the LA shows and talked to him for about an hour back stage and I had no idea who he was. My friend comes up while we are talking (about cars!!) and says hey your Bob Dylan........Bob Dylan says yes I know and turns back to me to continue our Jaguar XKE conversation. He was a pretty cool dude, he even called when he came to San Diego so we could go visit a fellow friend about Jags. Met up a few times after that. He got me tickets to the shows in San Diego. Full access back stage before, during and after show party.
