The '79 Firebird frame uses a metal mount that bolts to the block, and a rubber mount (with a steel housing) that bolts to the frame. I would think that you would need to buy both parts just as if you had a '79 Firebird with a small block Chevy.

Ummm, is that the way the chevy powered Firebirds were? I ask because my 403 powered TA is just the opposite and every other second gen I have seen is just the opposite. However, none were chevy powered and honestly I never paid any attention to the camaros. Metal hat on the frame. Rubber mount on the block.

i have a 72 camaro with the rubber on the frame and metal on block. and when bolted to the LS1 block they arnt matching up yet. so i am switching to the early style metal frame and rubber block.
