Thank you to the all brave men and women involved in rescue, recovery, and clean up in the days and months following that awful day. My heart goes out to families that are now without their Moms, Dads, siblings, children and friends. You are not forgotten.

Thank you to those of whom I haven't met that fight and die for our freedom and saftey in hostile foreign countries. We are forever in your debt. Stay safe!

I made sure to put my flags out this morning before work.

It's terrible how many people have forgotten or at least seem to have forgotten. My Dad is FDNY and every year on 9/11 I wear one of his uniform shirts (a blue FDNY polo). In the months following 9/11/01 I wore it often, especially to high school and many of the other kids donned themselves in FDNY apparel (as well as NYPD, American Flag shirts, etc). The numbers of people openly remembeing seems to have dwindled every year since. The college I go to has about 6,000 students, I didn't see all of them today, but saw at least 1-2,000 between classes and I saw maybe four students with FDNY shirts on and one with an NYPD shirt. No one really seemed to realize it was the five year anniversary. Never Forget.

I went jogging past the Pentagon almost everyday after Sept 11, and watched it rise from ashes, I never ceased to be pissed about it.

The following link will take you to the official Arlington County After Action report, and I think if you read it, you will find it fascinating, harrowing, and a different angle on that day.

There are many unsung heros from that day, which the above report rightfully gives credit to.
