hello, nice forum you guys have here. i have a question that is pontiac related. years back a friend of mine bought what he was told was a 1973 herb adams fire-am. we had removed the engine for a rebuild and there were a set of y-shaped bars running from the upper control arms to the cowl area, when it cane time o put them back in he decided to toss them in the trash, having a camaro i grabbed them and they had spent the last 15 years in a shed. are these bars herb adams specific and are they worth anything to a person with a herb adams trans am or are they still available. i really cant find alot of info on them and am really tierd of looking at them as now they are getting kicked around my garage. thanks..

I think have seen what your talking about on an 70-73 firebird that was an ex-autocross car. It was for sale, over-priced and highly oxidated (rusted hulk) when I saw it. I had figured they were one offs as the car had some other interesting things done to it. I be interested in seeing a photo of them.

usually called a g-brace. think it was herbs design originally. they are still made for about 150. yours though may be worth more because of the fact that they may be first editions, you'de just have to find the restorer that has to have them. you might find a more interested audience over at pontiaczone.com, transamcountry.com, performanceyears.com

Alston Racing makes them.

I think there is a pic, but the Web content software at work blocks a lot of the pic sites, so I can’t see the pics in that thread :)

Whoa! Install a set of them along with some solid sub frame bushings and sub frame connectors and you should have a fairly tight chassis.
